What is witness preparation and how does it apply to divorce?
by Nicole Stewart | Witness Preparation Expert
Witness preparation is the process of preparing for deposition, mediation or trial. When you divorce, you may be called upon as a witness to testify to the facts of your case. It is a very stressful, high stakes experience that can be mitigated with professional help from someone who can explain in layman’s terms the nature and purpose of deposition, mediation, and trial and how to share your story effectively and truthfully to move the audience for the best possible result (in the case of divorce, this can be the opposing attorney, a mediator or a judge).
Witness preparation expert Nicole Stewart divorced in 2022. Her background is in communication. She graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern University in 2001. She finds purpose in bringing her own experience going through a painful divorce to her work. Despite the fact that she had a wonderful attorney who did his best to prepare her to testify, she didn’t feel prepared on the stand and found the experience traumatizing. Her mission is to ensure that no one she works with will ever be caught unawares. She seeks to empower her clients to find healing and justice in the sometimes very frustrating legal process.
Nicole Stewart offers divorce witness preparation at a rate of $300/hour and works with clients across the US via Zoom and in person in Dallas, Texas. For more information and to schedule a “fit” call, please reach out to her at witnessprepwithnicole@gmail.com.
